In 1836, a Japanese translation of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms," illustrated by the famous Japanese painter Katsushika Hokusai, was released under the title "Illustrated Romance of the Three Kingdoms," and quickly became a best-seller at the time. The illustrations combine the techniques of Western copperplate engraving and Chinese woodblock printing, and are drawn with black and white lines. The compositions are very tense and detailed, creating a rich space for the reader's imagination.
This book was printed in 1916 and contains over 300 illustrations. It also includes the original text of The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, so you can enjoy reading it while also enjoying the pictures and text.
