"Chinese Costume: Women of the Great Tang Dynasty" dates back to the Sui dynasty and the Five Dynasties, and is divided into four chapters: silk clothing, accessories, makeup, and hairstyles. It uses illustrations and photographs to explain the names, styles, and coordination of various costumes of the time. It selects well-known figures in Chinese history, such as Consort Yang Gui, Wu Lutian, Shangguan Wan'er, Nie Yinniang, and Princess Tongchang, and restores the costumes, clothing, accessories, hairstyles, makeup, and scenes of each figure at the time based on previous documents.

Well-known figures from Chinese history, such as Yang Guifei, Wu Zetian, Shangguan Wan'er, Nie Yinniang, Princess Tongchang and others, are selected and the costumes, clothes, ornaments, hairstyles, makeup and scenes of each person in those days are restored based on prior literature.
