Optometry is a captivating graphic novel that follows a young girl as she undergoes an eye exam, only to find herself transported into a surreal world. As the optometrist adjusts the equipment, she is drawn into a space filled with overlapping images, dots, curves, houses, and reflections of light. She navigates this strange realm, overcoming challenges such as an endless maze, explosive landscapes, and multiple versions of herself, as she attempts to find her way back to reality. The artist, Xiang Yata, uses sketches, photography, and graphic design to explore how our thought patterns can diverge, offering a visually dynamic and thought-provoking experience.
